Catacombs

Have u known about these catacombs???!!

i came across this word recently, and got some details n they are.........(sshh...listen silently..it was a thrill story where i came to know this catacomb.......)

Catacombs are ancient, human-made underground passageways or subterranean cemeteries. Many are under cities and have served during historic times as a refuge for safety during wars.. there are catacombs around the world..some examples are catacombs of Paris and Rome..
There are thousands of decorations in the centuries old catacombs of rome and paris and other known and unknown catacombs, some of which include inscriptions, paintings and statues among other things such as ornaments which were placed in the graves over the years. Most of these decorations were used to identify, immortalize, and to show respect to the dead.

Catacombs of Paris

There are catacombs around the world above which stand the world's famous cities like London,Vienna,Paris,Rome,etc...
The time is moving so fast letting things behind and mostly we were unaware....
It s the constant thing that "things will change".........

Bionic eye.........

How does a "bionic eye" allow blind people to see?

In the past 20 years, biotechnology has become the fastest-growing area of scientific research, with new devices going into clinical trials at a breakneck pace. A bionic arm allows amputees to control movements of the prosthesis with their thoughts. A training system called BrainPort is letting people with visual and balance disorders bypass their damaged sensory organs and instead send information to their brain through the tongue. Now, a company called Second Sight has received FDA approval to begin U.S. trials of a retinal implant system that gives blind people a limited degree of vision.

This is what the world looks like to

someone with macular degeneration.

The Argus II Retinal Prosthesis System can provide sight -- the detection of light -- to people who have gone blind from degenerative eye diseases like macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa. Ten percent of people over the age of 55 suffer from various stages of macular degeneration. Retinitis pigmentosa is an inherited disease that affects about 1.5 million people around the globe. Both diseases damage the eyes' photoreceptors, the cells at the back of the retina that perceive light patterns and pass them on to the brain in the form of nerve impulses, where the impulse patterns are then interpreted as images. The Argus II system takes the place of these photoreceptors.
The second incarnation of Second Sight's retinal prosthesis consists of five main parts:

A digital camera that's built into a pair of glasses. It captures images in real time and sends images to a microchip.

A video-processing microchip that's built into a handheld unit. It processes images into electrical pulses representing patterns of light and dark and sends the pulses to a radio transmitter in the glasses.

A radio transmitter that wirelessly transmits pulses to a receiver implanted above the ear or under the eye

A radio receiver that sends pulses to the retinal implant by a hair-thin implanted wire

A retinal implant with an array of 60 electrodes on a chip measuring 1 mm by 1 mm

Unresolved Mysteries....

We come across issues lik this in our daily life. Some times, we believe things with our eyes closed. And most of the times,we don think in the same way as others do and really need not to be.We have our own ways and own policies that we believe in.,and which leads to arguments and some times misunderstandings too.We strongly set in our way that we say about some things as "ridiculous, superstitious etc.."And rarely are things which we don know to accept or oppose. One of such mysteries,i came to know recently(many of u wud ve known this before) starts lik this "Does the human soul weigh 21 grams?!!"

To know about this,i started googling. They say, theories were written and scientific tests have been conducted about this topic in the past. They believed for thousands of years that the human soul has physical presence. Is it so?!! Dr. Duncan MacDougall of Haverhill in Massachusetts experimented about this and he got positive results..He conducted his tests in 6 patients. One of his patients, after the moment of his death, lost weight by nearly 21 grams. He concluded as the weight of a human body differs by 21 grams before and after death.

But several issues have been there after this experiment like
"six samples is not enough for this test,
one of the six samples only gave the good results, and
how precise was the test about the moment of death?(even now with sophisticated technology, its difficult to predict)"

So,the discussion goes like this and ends as we surely leave something behind us ,the impact what others ve had on us.....

And if anyone knows more about this topic,u leave your valuable info....

Additionally,there s a movie called "21 grams" by Alejandro ...

Joy...

As i m fond of literature....

When i was reading novels,i ve been thinking that' if i have more time,i can read more books..'

After finishing my exams, i have more time to read..but the things happened reversely.

"The more the freetime we have, the more we do no thing..":)

"The joy of doing nothing" become boring after a few while....

??

Search for self...

Where to begin… the problem is binded to our day to day life. Have a thought in the phrase by a writer..

“We grow up as what is told..
We study as what is told..
We live, work, see the things etc like whatever been told to us..
& we end our life one day like what is told”

And in the whole journey, we learn to believe that what we have been told is the truth..
And not even trying to have a new view. And I need to tell here that the above things doesn’t mean to break the culture or tradition..

Where do we think with our own ideas?
When will we unwear the specs named society’s view?
Simply waiting doesn’t make any difference..
Don’t wait for others to change..
Let’s start from ourselves…
I’ve read somewhere that..

Many men die with the best music inside them not being sung”

Don’t run behind the time…
Live the moment with your own…
Keep rocking….
